The real risks (and the mythical ones)
The most talked-about risk —Instagram closing your account for buying followers— in our experience does not happen with normal purchases: the platform purges fake accounts en masse, it does not go after buyers. What we do see with bad services is more mundane: followers vanishing within weeks, unnatural growth spikes that hurt your reach, and, worst case, stolen accounts if you handed over your password.
That is why the useful question is not “is it safe?” in the abstract, but “is this specific service trustworthy?”. These are the four conditions we look at:
- No password: only your public link. Anyone asking for credentials is ruled out immediately.
- Gradual delivery: growth must spread over hours or days, never thousands at once.
- Visible guarantee: refill with a stated period, or an honestly declared “No refill”.
- Public account during delivery: the service must be able to see your profile; if it is private, delivery is impossible.
How to combine the purchase with real growth
Bought followers are social proof, not community: they help visits turn into follows, but they do not comment or buy. What we usually recommend is using them as a base —an account with 5,000 followers retains visitors far better than one with 120— while you publish consistent Reels that attract real followers.
And a coherence tip: if your account adds up to 10,000 followers but your photos get 12 likes, the mismatch shows. Pair them with proportional likes and, above all, content worth following.
